Minutes Sept 13,2010


Meeting Called to Order

 

The meeting was called to order by President Jay Manion at 7:00pm. There were 17 members present.


Secretary's report

 

Dan Dare made a motion to accept the Secretary's report, Al Jones seconded, The motion passed.


Treasures Report

 

Mark Harper made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report, Dan Dare seconded. The motion was passed.


Swap Shop

 

The President reported that our swap shop will be at the Roland Lewis building in the Mt. Vernon Park on December 5th. The building is reserved and the paperwork has been processed by the AMA. The Secretary will check if the reservation has been made for our Christmas party on December 6th.


Club Picnic

 

The fall club picnic will be Sunday, October 10th at the Whittington field. The rain date is October 17th.


Tail Twister

 

Fred Baker made a motion to discontinue the Tail Twister program at meetings. Mike Wilkerson seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the majority voted to continue the Tail Twister. Tom Duncan suggested that in place of the Tail Twister we have a raffle for prizes. After short discussion it was decided to table this idea until next meeting.


Food at Warbird Fly-in

 

Everyone agreed the food prepared by Bill and Jim Fleri for the fly-in was excellent. Dan Dare made a motion that in order to show our appreciation, we buy Bill, Jim, and wives their dinner at the club Christmas party. Doug Schindelar seconded and the motion passed. There was some concern that Bill and Jim would be too busy to fly at the event and we should offer to relieve them at the food stand if needed.


New Member

 

The President introduced new member Star Williams.


Member Report

 

We received a report on club member Pete Renick, who is recovering from surgery. The cards we signed and sent were appreciated.


Military Fly-in

 

Club Treasurer Norma McKay said we had 29 flyers register and also gave a financial report for the event. CD Tom Duncan stated that if we have the team fly trophy next year he would limit their flying to one team per hour. October Meeting

 

The next Meeting will be held at the Rend Lake College.

Roge Flatt made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Dan Dare seconded and the meeting was adjourned.

The October tail twister will be a pin hinge.
