Meeting Called to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:06pm by President Jay Manion. The meeting was held at Rend Lake College. There were 13 members present.

Secretary's report
| |
Al Jones made a motion to accept the Secretary's report, Sam Hart seconded. The motion passed.
|
Treasurer's Report
| |
Mark Harper made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report, Carl Wetzel seconded. Motion passed.
|
Swap Shop
| |
Our annual swap shop will be Sunday, December 5th at the Roland Lewis building in the Mt Vernon Cith Park. Our Christmas Party and December Meeting will be at Ryan's Restaurant in Mt. Vernon the following Monday, December 6th. We plan on eating at 7:00 PM.

Club Picnic
| |
The fall picnic will be Sunday, October 10th at the Whittington field. The club will furnish the meat, members are asked to bring side dishes and deserts. The picnic is for all members and their families. We will start about 1pm and eat about 1:30.

Web Site
| |
Roger Flatt reported the subscription for the club web site will be expiring soon and we need to decide if we wish to renew. It was decided to check other options at a future meeting.

2011 & 2012 Swap

The President recieved a letter from the City of Mt. Vernon stating that we can reserve the park building for the 2011 bad 2012 swap shops in advance. After discussion, Tom Duncan made a motion to reserve the building for the first Sunday in December in 2011 and 2012, Jim Fisher seconded and the motion passed.

Fuel

After discussion it was decided to wait on buying fuel until we have a large order.

New Members
| |
The President pointed out that new members need extra help in checking out their airplanes. Our rules state that all new planes or planes that have been rebuild must be inspected by 2 qualified club members before they are flown. Special emphasis must be placed on the controls, that they are working and moving in the correct direction. Jack Lipka made a motion that we placed signs on the safety fence saying "CHECK CONTROLS ARE FREE AND CORRECT". Gerry Donnellan seconded and the motion passed.

Fred Baker motioned to adjourn the meeting, Carl Wetzel seconded. The meeting was adjourned.

Tail Twister
| |
Jack Lipka volunteered to take over the Tail Twister Program. The November Tail Twister will be a fuel tank.
|
Next Meeting
| |
The next meeting will be at the Rend Lake College in the meeting room in the Student Center at 7:00 pm on November 1st.
